WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — This weekend marks a tragic anniversary. A rising star was killed on a movie set in Wilmington almost two decades ago.

Brandon Lee was filming the final scenes of ‘The Crow’ in right here in the Port City when he was accidentally shot with a live bullet from a prop gun.

Sunday is the 20th anniversary of the shooting. Brandon was the son of Bruce Lee.

he thought the weapon was loaded with a blank round. He put it up to his head and pulled the trigger. The force of the discharge killed him. Hardly an accident though.

Why speak when you have absolutey no idea what you are talking about? That is not what happens, there are dozens of eyewitness accounts. Please, don’t be ignorant.

It was caused by untrained gun handlers and an over budget production company. He was actually shot by a bullet that was lodged in the barrell and forced out by a blank in the gun that was fired.

for the correction. It appears I was partially correct as the weapon was loaded with a blank.
