11-year-old YouTube sensation fighting back against bullies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A Wilmington girl is a YouTube star and a national face for anti-bullying. Jolie Montlick is standing up for other kids and she says her confidence is a result of martial arts.

Jolie may only be eleven years old but she's already a 2nd-degree black belt in taekwondo and a two-time state champ. Jolie says it's much more than a sport to her.

"It gives you a lot of confidence to speak up for yourself and other people. It teaches you life skills like honor, integrity and self-control," Jolie said.

In fact, she feels confident enough to lead the class, teaching students years older than her the art of the sport.

Jolie was even featured in the spring issue of ATA World. She uses her story to fight for kids who are bullied in school.

"It feels good to help people. It's like my motto 'if you want to be happy, help someone else,'" Jolie said.

It doesn't stop with taekwondo. Jolie turned her love of music and songwriting into inspiration for other kids.

She became a YouTube sensation through her anti-bullying music video for her song, "My Song for Taylor Swift." Jolie's video has been seen in 130 countries and attracted 1.6 million views.

Jolie wants to give a voice to the kids who may be afraid to speak up and she's taken those efforts to the "Ambassadors 4 Kids Club," serving as the national anti-bullying spokesperson.

All of this from a little girl who is already making a huge impact on the world around her.
