In looking at all of the

In looking at all of the ways to participate in the Azalea Festival it is very skewed against the young men of our community. Instead of bringing in boys from the Citadel why don't we create a court of escorts for the Belles from our own community. Why isn't there a scholarship opportunity for a young man to be an ambassador for the festival? The Children's Tea is aimed towards girls.

Come on Azalea Festival people - give us parents of sons an opportunity to take part in the Festival like you do the families of the girls.

Christian concerts?

Christian concerts? Here? In the bible belt? How Absurd!! I tell you though I sure would love to see an AIRSHOW!!!!

Nothing against Christian shows......

as I am a Christian, but an airshow would be great "cross-platform" entertainment for everybody and that's what the Azalea Festival should be all about. Everybody.....

A very BONEHEADED idea to cancel it IMHO..... Hear that "Powers That Be"? You are boneheads!!!

What ever happened to the

What ever happened to the free Contemporary Christian Concerts they used to have... I remember one year Sonic Flood came... one year Avalon came... The concerts used to be packed out.. and were downtown on front street... any reason they stopped having these? I would love to see a contemporary Christian concert even if it was a paid event w/ names like Toby Mac, Third Day, Mercy Me...etc... w/ the new convention center, UNCW, etc it would be great for promoters to reach out to this Genre... every concert I've been to of Toby Mac and Third Day it's practically sold out... Usually I think they had these concerts on Friday Night If I'm remembering correctly? I know they have the event w/ the local churches praise bands etc... but I would like to see an actual concert held by known artists as well!

Them Christian concert groups just can't be allowed anymore!

Can't have none of that Christian nonsense around here anymore!

If they allowed that kind of religous brainwashing to occur, the next thing you know people would be insisting that Wilmington's famous (famous for a gutless decision by Wilmington's "leaders") "Holiday Tree" be called a "Christmas Tree".

That would be just like opening the gates of hell!

Funny how...

there is NO tolerance from those that advocate it so strongly huh? Spot on ChefnSurf... spot on.

I agree. I went to the

I agree. I went to the Avalon concert the year they played and thought it was awesome! I check every year to see if another Christian group is scheduled, but am disappointed to not see them on the list.

queen?

Word is there wasn't a queen as of Sun. Really late making an announcement. Is there one yet?

CHRISTIAN CONCERT

Why are there no Christian Groups (professional) at the festival. There used to be a group on Friday nigts and the last couple of years there has not been one. I thought the festival was for everyone to enjoy. I want to hear professional groups not groups from local churches.

Weather Permitting

Ol' Vog will have a "working garden" tour in his back yard during Azalea festival.
You are all invited to help spread manure, rake, and plant flowers and vegetables.

If I like you - I'll let you slurp water out of the garden hose on your way to the next house garden tour.

I'm sure people will be lined up waiting to come on in......

Well, maybe not......
Vog

funny!

What an awesome idea, ha ha! Wish I had thought of that!

Country, Country and More Country?

Oh my, why no other Genres this year?
