LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The name of a woman who died in a mobile home fire in Brunswick County Monday night has been released.

Officials say 55-year-old Bertha Denise Wilson died inside the house. No one else was inside.

According to officials, the call came in just before 5:00 at 3831 Calico Court.

The flames that started in the laundry room and kitchen area were contained in about an hour, according to fire crews.

I was sitiing in my home at the kitchen table when I heard the breaking news of this tragic situation. My heart is truly saddened! Prayers are being sent up for the family of Ms. Denise Wilson and for the friends of this young woman. Always!
