WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Azalea Festival kicks off this week, and you can add another entertaining act to your list of things to see.

Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars is coming to the Wilmington Internation Airport as a part of all the festival fun, and you can expect to see more than ever before.

The 129th Edition of Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars features all the attractions that make this classic, American circus a favorite, family tradition.

Amazing animals featured in the 2013 performance include Asian elephants, featuring Baby Val, Princess Vicenta and her White Tigers, and the Fassio Family’s cavalcade of comical canines.

You may catch them clowning around town up until the circus kicks off, and Carlee & Charlie stopped by Good Morning Carolina to tell us all about the fun.

Instead of having the elephant’s performances completely eliminated, I was thinking that they could “trunk-ated” instead?

No Fun For Elephants narrated by Bob Barker reveals the beatings circus elephants endure to this very day to entertain us and profit the circus.

If you love animals the circus is the last place you would go to see them. These animals have only known a lifetime of cruelty to entertain and profit the circus. The Festival Committee ignores this video of the elephant trainer traveling with Cole Bros training elephants behind closed doors.

Profit wins out over the humane treatment of these circus animals year after year.

Shame on wway for this article, contributing to the sad fact that some people have no idea how terrible, cruel and un-safe this is… do a little research on cole bros… it is HORRIFYING… this article makes it seem like the circus is awesome… but if you look back, wway has reported stories of the abuse & neglect this circus is guilty of… SOOOO many fines… shame. I would NEVER set foot there… not just because of the animal neglect & abuse, but the safety risk for any person near the animals & the abusers that neglect them… scary stuff!!!

Shame on ANY person who thinks this is “entertainment”!!!
