NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A New Hanover County firefighter was injured while responding to a fire this morning, according to New Hanover County Dispatch.

A supervisor says crews were responding to a call at 2608 N. College Road when the firefighter was hit by a car. Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Investigators say crews were responding to a fire at a vacant home that had also been broken into when the accident happened.
