WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The second stop on this year's Azalea Garden Tour takes you back to where it all began. This ivy-lined home was built by Marie Gerdes, one of the founding members of the Cape Fear Garden club, in 1940. The home was on the very first Azalea Garden tour.

A creek runs through the yard lined with azaleas, and the new owners have added a few new water features that match the yard perfectly. The shady yard features many pathways snaking through that allow for the perfect garden tour stroll.
