WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College will soon offer a program for veterans.

The Veterans Summer Institute is a free, one-week program designed to assist veterans in enrolling in, adjusting to and succeeding in college.

The program’s coordinator is excited about the opportunities it will bring to our area.

“We want to make them feel welcome and comfortable,” CFCC Veterans Affairs Coordinator Robert Philpott said. “Give them some tools so that they can succeed. Show them what we can give them at the college, and we think it’s going to be a good thing.”

The Veterans Summer Institute runs May 13-17. The class is not full yet.

For more information, contact Philpott at (910) 362-7106 or email rphilpott@cfcc.edu for details.

With Veteran’s school funding restored it’s good to see CFCC step up to the plate to offer assistance to provide for a better future for our hero’s.
Nicely done.
