WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The chair of the New Hanover County Republican Party has been named to the state Board of Elections.

Gov. Pat McCrory announced Rhonda Amoroso is one of the three Republicans who will join the board May 1. Prior to becoming party chair, Amoroso was vice chair in charge of election operations. She was also a member of Gov. McCrory’s transition team after he won election last fall.

Amoroso will be joined on the Board of Elections by fellow Republicans Josh Howard, a Wake County attorney, and Paul Foley, an attorney from Forsyth County.

McCrory also appointed two Democrats: Joshua Malcom, chair of the Robeson County Board of Elections and Maja Kricker, chair of the Chatham County Board of Elections.
