Paula Broadwell says she's returning to her faith

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The reservist whose affair with former CIA Director David Petraeus led to his resignation says she's made mistakes in her past, but is trying to look forward with her family.

Paula Broadwell attended the annual YMCA prayer breakfast in Charlotte and said the message hit home. Broadwell said the breakfast focused on redemption and slowing down in life and finding purpose.

Broadwell said she grew up in a strong, faith-based family and has decided to return to those roots for strength, as well as serving the community.

Petraeus resigned in November 2012 after acknowledging the extramarital affair, which was exposed after Broadwell emailed Tampa socialite Jill Kelley, allegedly warning Kelley to stay away from Petraeus and Gen. John Allen, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan.

What a shame! How much money her husband is paying for this PR campaing? Poor guy!

The "I am saved" gambit.
When the autobiographer becomes more notorious than the subject of the book the subjects book sales suffer as it did in the Gen Petreus situation.
Now she's going to use religion as a means by which she can attempt to regain her autobiographer status, while trying to shed the notorious "other women" moniker.
A few random thoughts.
She's probably broke or not getting many offers.
Petreus as a subject, seems bland to me. Swartzkoff(sp) was more interesting but by no means are the crop of recent Generals as interesting as Generals from the past like Ike, Patton, MacArthur, Mead, Grant, Lee, Pershing, and Bradley.
Because of this the scandal got more attention than the book did. DISCLAIMER - I did not read the Petreaus book, but the reviews were not "kind".
Ah well I suppose if it were me I'd try to get back in the spotlight too.
