BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The five suspects connected to a prostitution investigation in Boiling Spring Lakes appeared before a judge today. Meanwhile, we’re learning more about the crimes they’re accused of committing.

According to arrest warrants, on Nov. 20, 2012, Matthew Vaczy, Shawn Conley and Kyle Wolfe broke into a home in Boiling Spring Lakes and stole close to $500 and three .22 caliber pistols. A week later, police say, they used those guns to rob then-Northwest Police Lt. Michael Hayes as he was with a 17-year-old prostitute.

Investigators say Hayes later filed a false report about the incident in which he claimed he was driving near Sunny Point on River Road when he heard something hit his Chevy Tahoe. He claims in the report that he noticed a dent in the driver door and a tire leaking and thought it could have been caused by a bullet. However investigators allege the damage came from a shootout with Vaczy, Conley and Wolfe after they robbed him of $60 dollars he was attempting to exchange for sex acts with the underaged prostitute.

Tuesday Hayes quit his job at the Northwest Police Department, where he had worked since 2005, one day before the SBI arrested him. Department records show his stay there was not spotless, with a 2007 suspension for a policy violation.

Investigators say Hayes and BSL volunteer fireman Richard Mulligan, who also appeared in court Friday, used Craigslist to meet underaged prostitutes for sex in Boiling Spring Lakes.

Investigators say at least two underaged girls were forced into the prostitution.

All five men arrested in connection had their cases continued today.

Unfortunately I know how stupid these 3 guys are….

What WWAY is trying to say….

Kyle, Shawn, and Matt got some guns so they could rob people and make money to get drugs, as they are all stoners, pillheads, and who knows what else.
They get one of their friends thats a female to advertise for sex, with the plan to rob the guy for all their worth once they meet up.

Sadly, none of their parents were smart enough to raise them or enforce their education, so they are so dumb that they rely on street life antics to survive.
