WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A two-vehicle car crash sent two woman to the hospital Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred on N. Kerr Avenue, after five o’clock.

According to Trooper E.S. Wyrick, the driver of a white Hyundai failed to yield when turning left onto N. Kerr from Farley Drive, and hit a jeep traveling North on Kerr.

Investigators say the two woman riding in the jeep were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

It’s Wilmington, it’s what we DO!

They did not say the jeep was speeding and the white car did stop

The vehicle didnt yield!? They were supposed to stop! There is a stop sign there. People assume no one is going to go straight past that intersection. Its a cut through road. Ive lived right past this spot for 4 years and have seen at least 5 or 6 accidents in that same spot. They just put signs up warning of the intersection. I guess someone is going to have to get killed before they change something.

My computer has a 1 terabyte hard drive. If I saved every news story from WWAY of local car wrecks over the past…say…1 year…it would fill up my hard drive, plus an external one too…or is it…1-2??
Don’t let us drop off the top rankings charts in death by vehicle for city/county in NC folks. Fight for what’s ours!!!
The car wreck photo you see here on the news story should be a giant poster on I-40 as you enter Wilmington…not Azalea Festival info. That’s mynute to what we are really known for :-)
