NC mom has son jailed for stealing toaster pastry

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - A Charlotte woman who apparently had her fill of her son's behavior issues has decided to let local police deal with him.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said officers were called to a home in the city's Steele Creek area. The mother told the officers that the boy "stole Pop Tarts belonging to his mother at their home." The police report said the woman had been having ongoing discipline issues with her son and decided to teach him a lesson.

Officers said the boy will be charged in juvenile court with misdemeanor larceny. He was arrested Monday.
