LELAND, NC (WWAY) — A 74-year-old man was struck while riding his bicycle on Old Fayetteville Road near Woodburn Avenue in Leland.

According to the Leland Police Department, the bicyclist was travelling across Old Fayetteville Road yesterday evening around 7:00PM. The driver of the motor vehicle was not injured in the crash.

The bicyclist was transported to New Hanover County Regional Medical Center where he later died.

No charges have been filed at this time.
