WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — We’ve posted scores and notes from Friday’s high school state playoff action below. We had highlights from Trask’s season ending setback.

DURHAM, NC (AP) – Trea Turner and Bryan Adametz each drove in two runs to help North Carolina State beat Miami 7-1 on Friday in pool play at the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

Turner had a two-run single in a four-run second inning for the fourth-seeded Wolfpack (44-13), who improved to 2-0 in Pool A in Durham. N.C. State beat Clemson 6-3 on Thursday and can reach Sunday’s championship game by beating top-seeded North Carolina on Saturday.

Reliever Andrew Woeck (6-1) earned the win, pitching three scoreless innings without giving up a hit.

Starter Chris Diaz (6-5) took the loss for the eighth-seeded Hurricanes (35-23), who also lost 10-0 to North Carolina on Thursday and stand at 0-2 in pool play.

For Miami, Tyler Palmer had two hits while Brad Fieger brought in the Hurricanes’ only run by taking a bases-loaded walk in the third inning.

Miami faces fifth-seeded Clemson on Saturday.

DURHAM, NC (AP) – Chad Pinder drove in the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh to help Virginia Tech beat Georgia Tech 3-2 on Friday in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament, clinching an appearance in Sunday’s final.

Pinder also had a solo home run in the fourth for the sixth-seeded Hokies (38-19), who went 3-0 in Pool B to clinch a reach the title game.

Alex Perez also drove in a run for the Hokies, while starter Devin Burke (10-3) allowed two runs – one earned – and seven hits in 7 2/3 innings. Clark Labitan earned his 10th save.

Sam Dove and Matt Gonzalez each had two hits for the seventh-seeded Yellow Jackets (34-25), while Jonathan King (6-5) took the loss after allowing nine hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Georgia Tech upset second-seeded Florida State in its tournament opener but finished at 1-2 in Pool B.

UNCW 4 (11 innings) .. UNCW does not hold onto a 4-0 lead. Seahawks lose both of their games in the CAA tourney. UNCW will have to learn their NCAA Tournament fate on Monday.
