WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has lifted a precautionary boil water advisory for parts of the South Forest Hill section of Wilmington.

CFPUA says the advisory affected about 80 to 120 customers living in the 1900 through 2000 blocks of Dawson Street Extension, including Trolley Path, and the 2200 through 2400 blocks of Wrightsville Avenue.

CFPUA issued the advisory Monday evening after three breaks on a water main in the area.

Mike McGill from CFPUA here…

Thanks to WWAY for getting the word out both when we first issued the precautionary boil water advisory (PBWA) and when we lifted it earlier today.

In this situation, we had too many addresses to go door-to-door with notifications, a preferred method with PBWAs. When this happens, we rely on the media and the New Hanover County emergency notification system to help us get the word out, in addition to posting information on our website.

WWAY’s assistance with this matter was much appreciated.
