BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A former member of the Brunswick County School Board has been arrested and charged with embezzling from a school PTA.

Ray Gilbert, 46, is accused of taking money from the PTA at Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School, where he served as the organization’s president, according to the school’s website.

Investigators say Gilbert stole $3,678 from the organization over a three-year period.

Gilbert served one term on the Brunswick County School Board as a Republican. When he lost the Republican primary in 2008, he ran in the general election as a Libertarian. He ran again last year as a Democrat.

I guess since he is now a Democrat, all will be forgiven. This will come from William “the blob” Barber himself, speaking at a “Moral Monday” rally in front of the state legislative building.

From what I have seen neither Republicans nor Democrats have bragging rights at how honest their politicians are.

He wasn’t stealing while he was a republican. He waiting until he was a dem to start stealing. Typical.
