Suspect from checkpoint shooting out of hospital, in jail

READ MORE:

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A second suspect involved in a shot by officers at a DWI checkpoint earlier this month is out of the hospital and in jail.

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office says Antoine Levar Graham is now in jail under $1,021,000 bond. He faces ten counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, ten counts of AWDW on government official, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, felony conspiracy to flee to elude, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Investigators say Graham and Jerry Melvin tried to drive away from a checkpoint in Leland June 14 when officers opened fire.

Seven deputies from Brunswick and New Hanover counties and a Leland Police officer are under investigation by the SBI for their roles in the shooting.

Since someone will say it anyway....

Toine was a good kid, never looked for trouble, just always in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's not a bad guy, he deserves another chance...save it! In the end if you've lived a life full of scandal, robbing people (even your own family), "thuggin'", it will catch up with you. Better pray and ask God for forgiveness.

First they say they went

First they say they went through checkpoint now they say they went away from checkpoint. Somebody need to get this story together.

truth be told....

The story isn't going to come out as it happened, these two men were probably informants for a few dirty LEOs and when they're caught in the fire it doesn't matter what really happened, it's about protecting the crooked cops so their involvement or association with either of them won't be compromised, just an opinion.

Informants?

Your opinion did not involve much sense. Do you honestly think LEO's would injure their "informants"? Come on, now...what good would that do? The driver of the car was in the wrong, the passenger was with the wrong person at the wrong time, doing the wrong things. Everyone makes mistakes and I pray these 2 men will learn from this lesson. Morals and values start in the HOME. Who knows, they may have been raised this way and leading by example or they may have strayed away from good teachings. Either way, instill right from wrong in their minds as children and it will stay. LEAD BY EXAMPLE! Look at the news...look at the types of people doing wrong, what they done and the "reason" behind it, whether it be drugs, gangs, etc.

Start teaching in the HOME and this trend will break at some point. Otherwise, the city, county, state and even country we live in will continue to increase in danger as a result of behavior, drugs and gangs. Let's get it together!
