RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — A group from the Port City made their way to Raleigh on Monday to participate in the latest Moral Monday protest.

More than 100 people from New Hanover County made their way to Raleigh Monday to participate in the eighth Moral Monday protest. Teachers, workers, clergy members and students made the trip to ensure their voices were heard.

“I see all those working accomplishments that we made as a state disappearing. It took many years to get it together and put it together and it takes moments it seems for it to disappear,” Sandy Younce said.

Younce has worked in public education for nearly 40 years. He says public education is an issue that needs serious attention in our state.

“I think democracy is built upon public education and sharing knowledge,” Younce said.

Rep. Rodney Moore represents Mecklenburg County, but his roots are in his hometown of Wilmington.

“It is very important, because if you look at the history of Wilmington and the state in general, the state has moved progressively backwards,” Moore said.

More than 450 people have been arrested so far as part of the Moral Monday protests.

You need to brush up on your politics just a bit. Most people from the Northeast who retire and move here are Democrats. Examples like teachers and all union workers.

I don’t know if you should apologize to your teachers or if they should apologize to you.

Gotta give you credit; at least you can spell better than most of your fellow idiots. You must be the top idiot.

Dems got their behinds whipped in the last election and you think it’s because most of those who voted GOP were actually from up North? So your saying that the majority of NC residents are actually from up North? You’re even dumber than you give yourself credit for being.

The real problem with guys like you is that you’re not really even liberal. There are plenty of voters, who to their credit, genuinely are, but you’re not one of them.

You’re just a petty little man who throws a tantrum when things don’t go your way. Who pouts when others take a position other than yours. Who’s so stupid he has to put the blame for losing an election loss on someone from somewhere else, no matter how illogical.

The true irony of your bitter infantile tirade is that by blaming all of NC’s troubles on northerners being in control, you’ve really said that native NC’s are no longer capable of controlling their own state.

Not only is that entirely untrue; it’s an embarrassingly stupid thing to say.

Like I said; you must be at the very pinnacle of the idiot pile.

People actually going to Raleigh to protest?
    Good for us.
Any time people get that riled up about the goings on in our capital it’s a good sign be they Democrat or Republicans.

It’s good to see people getting involved….this is our form of government, at work……..

Younce you prove what an idiot you and your cronies are, you’ve been in public education for 40 years and have had a big hand in the dumbing down of our students, you should be ashamed, if after 40 years you and your cronies couldn’t have improved public education for our young people it’s time to seek a new career, maybe dishwasher!

You weren’t an educator, well you were…but only for 5 years. The rest of the time, you were a union rep. http://www.tactncorg.com/Board-of-Directors.html
