RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – A Rocky Mount tax preparer is facing felony charges of filing fraudulent tax returns.
The N.C. Department of Revenue said Tuesday it has filed charges of aiding or assisting in the preparation of fraudulent individual income tax returns against 36-year-old Myesha Harrington Moore.
A statement from the department said Moore was the owner and operator of a tax service. Arrest warrants say Moore aided or assisted in preparing and filing at least 11 fraudulent North Carolina individual income tax returns for clients for 2009, 2010, and 2011.
Moore is free on bond of $82,500. A first appearance was scheduled for Thursday in Wake County District Court.
It’s not known if Moore has an attorney.
