SUPPLY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County store clerk fended off a would-be robber this weekend with an interesting tool.

Surveillance video shows a man with a knife demanding money from a clerk at the Minute Man Food Mart in Supply Sunday night. When the clerk decides to stand his ground and threatens the crook with a can of cleaner, the man takes off.

Anyone with information should call the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

When later asked by police for a physical description of the would-be thief, the store clerk replied “I didn’t quite get to see his face, but when he ran out he was wearing a really clean hoodie!”

Good! Glad this had a great outcome – hope they catch the perp. I won’t say where my business is here in Brunswick County – but I will say this – if you come into my place and threaten me, the police will know you when they see the Red Enamel Paint all over you. I keep a can close by – it won’t wash off easily I can guarantee!
