WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are searching for a suspect who is on the run after several men were caught stealing a man’s company truck in Wilmington overnight.

Dispatchers say the owner of the truck spotted the group of men in the act outside of his home in the 2300 block of Adams Street just before 2:30 a.m.

When police caught up with the vehicle on 16th Street, three male suspects jumped out of the truck and took off running.

Police found two of the men hiding in a dumpster nearby and took them into custody, but the other suspect got away.

K-9 units and the SABLE helicopter joined police in the search to find the third suspect, but dispatchers say he is still on the run.
