WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — Local clergy and community supporters will call for a Cease Fire throughout the City of Wilmington during a news conference scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. at 14th & Dawson Streets (plaza area of Hillcrest Housing Community).

The pastors will be joined by Chief Ralph Evangelous and other community supporters in a united stand against the recent rash of gun violence in the City of Wilmington.

Over the past few days, there have been dozens of shootings, reports of shots fired and two teenagers have been murdered. One was in Wilmington, the other in Leland.

Police officers were also called in Friday night on their time off to help patrol hot spots.
