BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The NC Department of Transportation says work to replace two bridges will close two roads for several months starting next week.

The DOT says Lincoln Road is Leland will close starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday through Nov. 9. Traffic will detour onto Mt. Misery Road to Village Road.

Crews will also close Galloway Road near Bolivia from July 11 through Dec. 11. The detour will take drivers to Randolphville Road to US 17 to get around the bridge work.

I think we are being milked on these long bridge closures for the most part, the state should coordinate and the companies bidding these replacements should plan on working 24/7 and completing the job as soon as possible, not just dragging it out to justify a bid.

I had some bridge work done once, but it was only bothersome when I tried to eat. Hahaha
