FIRST ON 3 UPDATE: 20-year-old charged with DWI after crash injures boy

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Highway Patrol says a 20-year-old woman was drinking before she hit an eight-year-old boy with her car last night.

Troopers say Ashley Burke blew a point .08 at the scene of the crash on Chatooga Place in Wilmington and .05 at the station. She is charged with driving while impaired and driving after consuming alcohol under age.

The boy is recovering in the hospital.

I blamed both in another blog post
I stand by that.

But I'll ADD this:
Where the hell were this girls parents?
Please don't tell me they didn't know that she drinks........

I can remember telling my girls that if they broke the law they would face the Judge.
Then they would face me - and they'd MUCH rather take punishment from the judge then the punishment I'd hand out to them.
It worked on two of the three of them.

This is horrible and she needs to face a judge for much needed help. Before you place judgement on her parents, you need to know what you are talking about. Her parents aren't in the picture. Don't pass judgement when you don't know facts. She is an adult and needs to face this as an adult. The family that raised her and HAVE gotten her help have enough to bear in this without your ridiculous statement.
Ashley is the one responsible for this. I only hope a judge will make sure she is held accountable for what "she" did.
