WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police have charged a 19-year-old man after a drive-by shooting Tuesday evening at Creekwood Apartments.

Police say around 6:35 p.m. a black Chevy Impala pulled up in the 800 block of N. 30th Street where a group was standing. Police said that’s when someone in the car started shooting and then sped off. Police say the car was involved in a hit and run at 30th and Market.

The car was spotted in Monkey Junction with its bumper dragging. Investigators say it drove into the garage of a home at Wood Ridge Road and Greenbriar Road.

When police arrived, witnesses say there was a brief standoff before police took three people into custody. Police say they charged Joseph McCrimmons, 19, with possession of a firearm by a felon, among other charges.

Looks like momma has had her share of breaking laws too. http://webapps6.doc.state.nc.us/opi/viewoffender.do?method=view&offenderID=699646 And she doesn’t feel the need to show up to court either, http://www.justmugshots.com/north-carolina/raleigh/198494 And wonder where the father is???????

  • Guestomfg

No, but the guy in the picture is.

Maybe tonight at Wednesday night prayer meeting the preachers will remind these thugs of the “cease fire” and all will be peace and love again in Creekwood and the greater Wilmington Hood.

Another drive-by shooting at Creekwood? And I thought drive-by shootings were a thing of the past.

If I lived in Creekwood, I don’t think I would hang out by standing beside the street in a group. A group of loafers just standing around seems to invite a drive-by.

How many shootings have occurred out there in Creekwood? Too many. That’s for sure.

    You are human garbage.

  • Guestomfg

no way, a black guy?? We are TRAYVON. LOL

I was in total shock too. And your comment made me laugh out loud. Classic!

    See what I mean?

  • Guest1851658

I interpret his comment to mean that many of these thugs need to be neutralized.

pay any attention to GOM. The guy is an illiterate idiot that could not construct a thought nor convey it if he did.

Hence the reason we have geniuses like you to post intelligence on who knows what, when and where. Do you still get your jollies from chopping on others even after your mommie told you to stop that?
Do you have anything constuctive or insightful to add to this blog?

Sometime while not in jail for his previous two assault with a deadly weapon charges, Joseph managed to father a child. Another fatherless child most likely living on the system with her momma. Here is one of his priors,http://www.wsfx.com/Global/story.asp?S=14182313 And here is his DOC file, http://webapps6.doc.state.nc.us/opi/viewoffender.do?method=view&offenderID=1280458&searchLastName=mc&searchFirstName=j&listurl=pagelistoffendersearchresults&listpage=355

These renters moved in to our very quiet neighborhood about a year ago. We have constantly been concerned about the suspicious activity and constant traffic flow in and out of this house, but no one will do anything!! I guess it takes a police standoff with assault rifles drawn for someone to pay attention. Such a shame. Get out of our neighborhood and take the trouble with you! We don’t want this mess around our young children and families.

  • Jimmy

They will not answer……..for over two month we’ve reached out to them!

I hate to be a Monday morning Quarterback, but there were a lot of solutions to this problem. Of course, it would take a little bit more effort when this METHODIST Pastor didn’t have the common decency to return calls. Unfortunately, people are busy, but I would have gone to his Church to see him face to face at Sunday Service, or a SIMPLE solution is that I would have gone to his boss, the D.S.

Below is a description of how the Methodist Church works AND they are all MINDFUL of the District Superintendent! Read on!
[Groups of churches in a geographic area are organized to form a district, somewhat similar to the way cities and towns are organized into counties. Often, churches in a district will work together to provide training and mission opportunities.1

Each district is led by a district superintendent (“DS”), an elder appointed by the bishop, usually for a six-year term. The DS oversees the ministry of the district’s clergy and churches, provides spiritual and pastoral leadership, works with the bishop and others in the appointment of ordained ministers to serve the district’s churches, presides at meetings of the charge conference, and oversees programs within the district.2

These would have been my FIRST resolution attempts, but after learning that it was Section 8 Voucher housing = I would have quickly CALLED THE WHA and reported it!!
Tenants are read the riot act when they first get a voucher, (you know, when they are soooo grateful for the BLESSINGS of low-income housing). They are told that they can lose the housing for FAR LESS than the events that have been occurring in your neighborhood.

THEY DON’T Mess AROUND! They would have been over there in a “shot”! PUN Intended.

How do these hoodlums get guns, cars and bullets to go after each other? Who pays for their car insurance and gas? Hmmm, am I paying for these and if so they need to learn to shoot better!

  • Guest111

    Exactly what are you saying?

  • Guest-o-matic

They steal the guns and bullets or buy them after they’ve been stolen. They deal drugs to little kids to buy their cars. Myself and other taxpayers pay for their gas, food, housing and cell phones. They don’t have insurance. The judges and the DA’s allow them to continue to circulate through the courthouse doors and they remain free in society to shoot at whoever they want as many times as they want.
With the comments you just made, it’s doubtful you’re paying for yourself, much less anyone else, so don’t worry about it!

  • Brett

Why wasn’t the owner of this house asked to comment on this matter? They may have some per tenant knowledge pertainiing to the shooting or the suspects.

  • antithug

5th Ave United Methodist church owns the house. They rent it as a section 8 property. This is what happens when churches are landlords and have no clue on what is going on. And also how section 8 enables thugs to thrive. At least one of the three suspects is a convicted felon. Hmmm, thought felons can’t live in section 8. Way to ruin an otherwise peaceful neighborhood. And you call yourself a church! Makes me sick!

  • Guest23

The owner of this house is a church who tries to be a good samaritan letting thugs live there, the people in custody were the people living in the home

  • Nofaithnlaw

    Have you not paid attention..They don’t see anything..they don’t anything…and it goes on & on & on!

  • nofaithnlaw

    Trash! Go figure!

  • nofaithnlaw

    neutralized..exterminated whatever. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

  • truthseeker

My comments were mean’t to be witty. In order words if they shoot better than they will eventually take each other out. Your comment about paying for myself was completely antagonistic and total wrong. I assure you my income is much higher than what you earn riding the A-1 Sanitation truck and my education level higher than your GED. In fact your comment indicates to me you were in the vehicle with the shooters!

  • Guest2012

    Think before blogging!

How DARE YOU insult the HARD WORKING Men (and some women) who pick up our trash.

They DO NOT “RIDE” the Sanitation Trucks. They break their backs every day in the blistering sun, the pouring rain and other elements picking up our stinking garbage.

They are among the hardest working, lowest paid American workers and I RESPECT THEM very much.

THANK you to all the guys who pick up our trash. We all know that it is a thankless job, but somebody’s gotta do it, and we are happy that you all do it so well.

So, BE A Truthseeker, if you really want to, but THINK about your insults before you “ass-u-me” that everyone but you has no education or lacks a college degree/s.
Just remember that degrees are a dime-a-dozen and they are merely paper. They do NOT sprout intelligence. Someone fairly intelligent said that he has met some of the most educated imbiciles. I concur!

If you were a big person, you would apologize to the husbands who are out there EARNING a living to SUPPORT their FAMILIES. Think about the topic at hand!

GOM- I totally agreed with your take on the subject.

It’s not the judges or the District Attorneys who are letting these people be on the streets. Their hands are bound by the laws of North Carolina. It’s the legislature that doesn’t seem to want to be tough on crime. It’s bad enough that the punishment doesn’t fit the crime, but are stripping the court system. They no longer fund the drug courts which serve to ease the burden on the prison and jail populations as well as easing the burden of the probation office, which is underfunded. I don’t know if Goolsby’s proposal to cut the number of court reporters stood, but this is something that will slow down a system that already moves like molasses in the winter.
