Carolina Flyboard jet-packs over the Cape Fear River

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A unique sight caught the attention of many people strolling around Downtown tonight.

A new Wilmington company, Carolina Flyboard, had a representative jet-pack over the Cape Fear River.

Connected to a jet-ski, the jet-pack allows the user to hover over a body of water using hydro-pressure.

It costs just over 50 dollars to rent the gadget.

People who are brave enough to try it, say is is a lot of fun and surprisingly easy.

"I am 59-years-old. I figure if I can do it, anyone can do it," Tommy Lineberry said. "It really is a blast. To fly up in the air and do twists; I haven't done twists, but they do."

The company has been in business for about a month.

For more information you can find them on Facebook by using Carolina Flyboard as the keyword.

Oh boy

You get me on that?
I'd face plant against the supports for the CF Bridge.
I WOULD find a way to do it, guaranteed.

I will gladly

put up the 50$ for that

Get in line then..........

That was $50

to watch YOU smack into the bridge

There are quite a few people who would want me to face plant so you'll have to stand in line with your $50 to see me do it.
(The Mrs will get first dibs - so long as she puts up her $50)

Fun on the river

Be cautious, there are submerged logs floating up and down the river.
Just saying.
