Man stabbed Friday afternoon on Greenfield Street

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police are investigating after a man says he was stabbed Friday evening while walking home from the store.

The victim said he was coming home from buying a soda around 5:40 p.m. when two men approached him in the 1300 block of Greenfield Street. He said the men demanded his money. As he fought with them, he was stabbed in his left side.

The victim told police his attackers were both black males about six feet tall. He said one was about 30 with a goatee and carrying a small pocket knife, while the other was in his 30s with a mustache. Both were wearing black shirts and jeans.

The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. There's no word on his condition.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Thank goodness those perpetrators heard the "cease fire" message at church and turned in their guns. The poor victim could have been shot instead.
You would think they were paid enough at the gun buy-back that they wouldn't have to rob anyone for a while.
