WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after a man says he was stabbed Friday evening while walking home from the store.

The victim said he was coming home from buying a soda around 5:40 p.m. when two men approached him in the 1300 block of Greenfield Street. He said the men demanded his money. As he fought with them, he was stabbed in his left side.

The victim told police his attackers were both black males about six feet tall. He said one was about 30 with a goatee and carrying a small pocket knife, while the other was in his 30s with a mustache. Both were wearing black shirts and jeans.

The victim was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. There’s no word on his condition.
