HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities have charged a Hendersonville woman after a wreck sent her and her three young children to a local hospital.
The Times-News of Hendersonville reports (http://bit.ly/1aVaiGb) the N.C. Highway Patrol said 23-year-old Christina Lee Duncan is charged with driving while impaired on drugs, reckless driving, misdemeanor child abuse, possession of marijuana and failing to have her kids in a child restraint system,
Duncan has denied being impaired and said her children were restrained when she was involved in the wreck on Sunday. In an interview with the newspaper, she said she swerved off a road, overcorrected and smashed into a tree, flipping the truck she and the children were in. Duncan was ejected and briefly passed out.
The investigating trooper said speed and impairment contributed to the accident.
