Ashley Jacobs returning to co-anchor 'Good Morning Carolina'

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Sometimes news karma works in your favor, and this is one of those times!

Ashley Jacobs is coming back to WWAY to co-anchor "Good Morning Carolina" with Tim Buckley and Randy Aldridge.

Over the past few months, some things have changed that will help Ashley out with childcare (she has two little ones) and help her balance work with being a mom and wife.

Ashley and Tim have such chemistry together, and it broke my heart when she decided she needed to leave. But now that's she able to return AND work with both Tim and Randy, I think this newscast is going to be a home run.

We're planning on her being back on the air next Thursday or Friday.

Ashley was/is Genuinely happy, informative & one of the best anchors WWAY has ever had! A natural! Welcome back!!!

Oh this is great news. Things were getting so bad in the morning I was watching another channel

Please Scott....

Do not continue to re-post this story over and over again like you did when Cacky Catlett was leaving. You embarrassed yourself with that one. I am glad that Ashley is back. She is very professional and does a good job. But one story will do just fine.

Hey Ashley

Maybe you can cover the convention center hotel deal eh?
The extension EXPIRED July 30 according to previous stories on WWAY in April/May.

So right now the deal is "over" and I have heard not a peep from the local media about this.
They're either too busy covering Cacky/Mak/Ashley, or cease fires I guess......

Perhaps you can break this news upon your return

Welcome back.....

was that the much vaunted management deal which apparently put more money, for managing the CC, into the management firm's coffers than into the city checkbook?

No Tom

I know it's hard to keep track of all the stupid things this city does but read the following:

"WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington City Council has granted another extension for the company developing a hotel to be built next to the Wilmington Convention Center.

Harmony Hospitality requested to extend its agreement at Monday's City Council meeting.

The agreement, which ran out April 30, has been extended 90 days to provide more time for details to be worked out, including the hotel's design and Harmony's land purchase agreement for an Embassy Suites Hotel with the city, as well as financing.

The proposed Embassy Suites Hotel will have 186 rooms and stand about as tall as the Hilton Wilmington Riverside a few blocks away. The hotel is estimated to have a $33.6 million price tag, according to city leaders.

This is the third time City Council has granted Harmony an extension on the agreement."

This is to build the hotel and the previous agreement was the 3RD extension. All previous attempts have failed at, or before the 4th extension.
Not one media outlet as covered this.

Ashley coming back

Yippee! When we heard about the new shake up, my husband joked, "Maybe Ashley will come back." That is great news.
