WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police are looking for a man they say threatened to kill two employees at a Wilmington hotel Friday morning before punching one of them and running away.
They say it happened just after 5:30 a.m. when dispatchers got a call from the Baymont Inn on College Rd. about a dispute before the line was disconnected.
Dispatchers then got another call from the same hotel. The caller told them a homeless man walked up to the hotel asking for rags, but employees refused.
Employees told police they thought the man left, but they asked him to leave when they found him hiding in the laundry room.
That's when employees told police things turned violent. When a female employee began to call 911, the man grabbed the phone from her and punched her.
The man forced the woman and another employee into an office and left in an unknown direction, but they were able to give police a description.
Police say the man is a black male who has a gap in his teeth, is between 27 and 34 years old, and weighs around 150 to 160 lbs.
If you have any information, please call the Wilmington Police Department.
