WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police arrested a man who was already wanted in Cumberland County after they say passersby spotted him shooting a pellet gun at kids on a Wilmington street.
They say just after 11 a.m. on Monday, police responded to reports of a man firing an air-gun towards children in the 1100 block of Carnation Court.
Police say when officers arrived on the scene, the shooter gave them a false name before he took off running down the street.
When they arrested the man, Jonathan Kelly, 21, police found that Kelly was already wanted on two felony warrants in Cumberland County.
According to arrest records, Kelly has been in jail in Bladen, Wake, and Cumberland County jails over the past three years.
Kelly is charged with firing a pellet gun and resisting arrest. He is in jail under $40,600 bond.
