Police searching for several masked men after overnight robberies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Police are on the look-out for several suspects involved in two different robberies in Wilmington overnight.

They say the first crime happened at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, where five teenage boys with white shirts or bandannas over their faces robbed a man who they say was sitting on a bench.

Then on S. 15th Street, police say a couple of men, one of whom also had a bandanna covering his face, jumped out of bushes near Market Street and attacked and robbed two skateboarders.

They say the two robbers got away with both cell phones and wallets after pistol-whipping one of the skaters, but they were able to give police descriptions of what the attackers were wearing.

Police say both of the men were wearing dark clothes, one with a red bandanna over his face and the other with a paintball mask over his.

Police say they do not believe the two crimes are related.
