WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s a love story unlike most. Billy and Peggy Griffin met as children at the Methodist Home for Children near Raleigh, but their friendship didn’t end there.

Bill and Peggy took the love they found at the orphanage with them, fell in love in their teens and then married.

Now, the couple is recounting their life at the orphanage and their love affair that all started inside the place they called home.

The couple has also written a book, “An Exceptional Journey: And the Two Shall Become One,” that tells readers about the ways the orphanage helped shape their lives.

Billy and Peggy both sat down with Good Morning Carolina anchor Randy Aldridge to talk more about their story, as well as their retirement in Kure Beach.
