Pender man charged with attempted murder after fight about power bill

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Pender County man is charged with attempted murder and other crimes after a dispute over a power bill, investigators say.

The Pender County Sheriff's Office arrested Patrick Delane Bullard, 54, of Rocky Point last week and charged him with attempted first degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, breaking and/or entering and possession of a firearm by felon.

Deputies say during the fight over the bill Bullard shot at the victim, who was not hurt.

Bullard is in the Pender County Jail under no bond.

The Department of Corrections website shows Bullard has a criminal history dating back to 1991, including convictions for habitual DWI, drugs, breaking and entering and assault on an officer.
