WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- In Hollywood East, there was a special premiere for a new show shot in Wilmington.
The cast, crew and soon-to-be-fans gathered at Regal Mayfaire to watch a screening of Sleepy Hollow Tuesday night. It's a modern-day twist of Washington Irving's classic.
According to a Star News article, the Wilmington Film Commission says in 2011, film productions brought 9,000 jobs and put more than $247 million to the area.
But, it's not just about the jobs and money for some cast members.
"It was a wonderful experience. From the crew to the cast members all the way to the top to Orlando Jones and Tom as well. They have been excellent," said Talha Abdulaziz, a Sleepy Hollow extra.
Sleepy Hollow premieres on FOX Sept. 16. According to the Wilmington Film Commission's website, it's one of six productions that are shooting right now or that just wrapped up filming.
