16-year-old charged as adult in Tuesday shooting


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with a shooting yesterday afternoon in the 400 block of N. 11th Street.

Witnesses told police that Malik Point of 609 N. 10th Street was the person who shot at the Tahoe riding down the street.

Point has been charged as an adult with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon into a moving vehicle and possession of a handgun by a minor.

Police say there were two people in the SUV. Driver Marcus Clark, 28, was injured by shattering glass from the shooting. Police found Clark at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. They found the Tahoe in a parking lot off N. 11th Street damaged by several bullet holes.
