WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington business is fighting for first place in the Martha Stewart American Made Contest.

Nye’s Cream Sandwiches are also featured in this month’s issue of Oprah Winfrey’s “O” magazine.

Currently Nye’s is in second place in the Martha Stewart contest.

The owners say they need help to make it the top spot.

“Voting goes on through September 22 for the category, the food category. After that you would go into a face off with the top 6,” Kelly Nye said. “If we were to win that, we would get $10,000, but we would mainly get the exposure of being the winner of the american made contest.”

If they win the Nyes plan to donate the money to the Rally Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancers.
