WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police say the man who shot another man over a pair of sneakers earlier this week is behind bars in Hamlet.

US Marshals arrested Tayshawn Lamons Robbins, 30, of Wilmington early this morning on warrants for robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police issued warrants against Robbins shortly after they say he approached Joshua Shackelford in the 4700 block of Greentree Road Tuesday afternoon and demanded his sneakers. Shackelford says the man shot him in the foot and then took the shoes. Shackelford says he knew his attacker, because the two got into a fight a year ago.

Police say Robbins left Wilmington immediately after the incident. Police say the grey and white Nike shoes were valued at about $50.

This man is truly a piece of trash. It’s a shame nothing will be done to him to cause him pain or regret. He’ll be back on the street in a month or so.

So what could he have gotten for his gun if he turned it in a couple weeks ago?

I wonder if the $50 value was pre-bullet hole, or post bullet hole.

Shot him in the foot and then stole his shoes? Who wants shoes with bullet holes?
