WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Motorcyclists revved their engines and showed off their red white and blue at a motorcycle ride in honor of those who died on the September 11th.

The 343 memorial ride remembers the 343 firefighters that died trying to save lives on 9/11.

Jack Jarvis, a Wilmington firefighter says this is a great way to honor those who lost their lives trying to save others.

“It’s been 12 years but we want to make sure that nobody ever forgets what happened on that day, and the sacrifices that the people made running into the building when everybody was running out,” Jarvis said. “And it’s really important to us firefighters that people don’t forget what happened on that day.”

Proceeds from this event will benefit the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center.
