McIntyre says constituents overwhelmingly against US action in Syria

LELAND, NC (WWAY) -- Rep. Mike McIntyre is speaking out on the continuing crisis in Syria.

He says he has spent a lot of time talking to his constituents in southeastern North Carolina, and overwhelmingly most people are opposed to any US involvement in Syria.

"The question for us in Congress and for us as a country is has it been a threat directly to the United States, and after going to top secret briefings and then after the meetings we have held on the national level and in the armed services community, and the answer to that is no," McIntyre said.

McIntyre says a limited strike in Syria would not resolve any of the issues plaguing that country.
