BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC ( — Appeals from local officials failed to persuade federal agencies that Brunswick County is tied more closely to Wilmington than to Myrtle Beach.
The federal Office of Management and Budget found no reason that Brunswick should be moved back to the Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area, according to a response recently sent to U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre's office.
"The OMB and Census found no… basis for an exception with Brunswick County," the response says. "It meets the criteria in the standards to be a central county of the Myrtle Beach, S.C. MSA"

Why are people concerned about Brunswick County is? Its always going to be right where you left it. Aren’t there more important community issues to find solutions for?

Most people in Brunswick County, outside of Leland, prefer Myrtle Beach to Wilmington. I know my family and I do. At least they treat us like locals instead of the redheaded stepchild. They drive better. The roads are better. It is much easier to get around in Myrtle Beach than it is in Wilmington. They have more things to do and I don’t hear about as much crime there as I do from Wilmington.

Next time the Census is sent out to us,, TRASH it. We just need not to go to Myrtle Beach. Spend out money in Brunswick County only.

I am glad we will be associated with a more classy district, now if we can just adopt some of their ways, for starters better roads and cheaper gas.
