WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker was the guest speaker at a luncheon for business leaders in Wilmington hosted by the Cape Fear World Trade Association.

Decker says much of the growth in this economy is going to come from small and mid-sized businesses. She says these types of businesses will be able to grow by exporting their goods overseas.

“We know Wilmington’s economy is beginning to show some signs of recovery,” Decker said. “We are working to recruit major businesses to the state of North Carolina, including the Wilmington area.”

Decker discussed a number of issues at today’s luncheon, including the importance of international trade in the state and the opportunities available to exporters now.
