Disney Channel seeks talent in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Disney Channel is looking for new, fresh faces right here in Wilmington this weekend.

The free open call audition for local teens and tweens kicked off Saturday from 9 A M to 1 P M at the Wilmington North Carolina Convention Center, and continues at the same time Sunday.

Casting executive Judy Taylor says Disney wants to give kids the opportunity to be seen.

"At the end of the day, most of our programming is based in comedy, and that is a very specific skill set," said Taylor. "We are looking for those kids who have that kind of talent."

Taylor says this is the same type of audition that discovered celebrities like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. She hopes that, if nothing else, contestants will enjoy and learn from the experience.

I don't know WHY Disney did not select me....
I trimmed the (mostly)Salt and pepper beard.
The mostly gray hair was clean and combed.
I used moisturizer on the craggly face creases.
My back and shoulder hair was perfectly coiffed.
Trimmed the nose and ear hair.
Made sure the dentures were stable.

And they didn't pick me as the new fresh face for Disney!
It must have been that darned AARP card I presented as a second form of ID.

I don't get it........

You probably have talent and you're too normal.
