WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Nearly 80 CFCC students from nine technical and vocational programs are done with a project that was all for one woman.

Carolyn Saunders was overjoyed as she cut the ribbon to her newly renovated home.

She says watching the construction progress day after day kept her hopes high.

And now Saunders says she feels safe and secure in her new home.
It’s a far cry from what it once was.

“You just can’t imagine how I feel having this home. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted.”

Saunders says she’s been battling illness the past seven months and her home was falling apart when she needed it the most.
