WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) -- A Wilmington man pleaded guilty Monday in the September 2010 stabbing death of another man at Solomon Towers.

Haneef Adib Rahamann, 60, entered an Alford plea to charges of voluntary manslaughter and robbery with a dangerous weapon in the death of Reginald Burke Bunton, 42, who was found stabbed to death Sept. 1, 2010, on the 10th floor of Solomon Towers, an 11-story handicapped and senior public housing complex at 15 Castle St.

An Alford plea is one in which a defendant admits no guilt, but is sentenced as if he had. Rahamann was sentenced to between 13 and 17 years. In exchange for the plea, an habitual felon charge was dismissed.
