1 killed, 2 hurt in Charlotte domestic shooting


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Charlotte police say one person has died and two others have been hospitalized after a shooting near Interstate 485.

Police were called to a neighborhood shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday and found three people who had been shot.

Investigators say 43-year-old Marcia Winningham was dead in her home The other two people shot were listed in serious condition. Their names or any relationship to the shooter or victim has not been released.

Authorities say Winningham filed a protection order against the man who shot her in September 2012.

Virginia State Police arrested David Fields near Richmond on Friday morning and faces a murder charge. Charlotte-Mecklenburg detectives are heading up to speak to him. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
