Someone lied

Im close to this kid I know him and his cousin they share everything and he dont deserve to be trial as an adult he is 17 and even if they had intercourse this girl must had gave him false information about herself and her age because I know 100% that he wouldn't even touch her if she was under age.

Someone Lied

to those of you with negative comments we would greatly appreciate it if you would keep them to yourself and furthermore you must don't know him as well as you think because he knew exactly how old she was and she's only 12 so if you want to support a rapist then that's totally up to you

Disagree

We all know that there's plenty of teenage girls these days who try to look more mature but a 13 year old just doesn't look old enough to pass.

You are in denial because you know him.

I have to disagree with you.

I have to disagree with you. As a parent of a 13 1/2 year old girl, she definitely looks and has been mistaken for much older than she is. She does not dress inappropriatly and takes pride in her appearance as she does not dress trashy at all. She makes sure her body parts are covered and carries herself well. Lets face it, our teenagers today are far more developed than they used to be. Yes, a 13 year old still has the mentality of a 13 year old in most cases BUT you def can not base age off of looks alone.
I know my daughter and a good majority of her friends could easily pass for 16.

well I have a 12 year old

well I have a 12 year old and she looks exactly like she suppose to look 12 years old and wasn't raised like she was any older she dresses like an 12 year old and everything

That is good old District

That is good old District 13. The punishment never fits the crime. Criminals back on the street before the paperwork is done.

This monster will get a

This monster will get a 'slap on the wrist', if he even gets that.

You're The MONSTER

How is he a monster! The girl must have lied about her age, or even asked him to have sex. Maybe, he did not know she was under age and last time I checked you was considered an adult after the age of 18! They are both under the age of 18 and are teenagers he should not be in jail in the first place.

A minor being charged as an

A minor being charged as an adult is nothing new. It is based on the crime itself. He committed an adult crime and should be tried as an adult.

Also, the age of consent in North Carolina is sixteen. So, on that score, he is considered old enough to be responsible. It is highly unlikely that a girl who is twelve years old would be mistaken for a sixteen-year old.

Maybe you're right. He's

Maybe you're right. He's just under 18. And maybe she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Who cares if she was, 13 or less. Unless, of course, it was your 13, or maybe even 10 year old daughter, or cousin.

Let's hope...

Raquan is tried as an adult. Pretty sad that a crime of this magnitude carries only a $10,000 secured bond requirement.

I feel like justice wasn't

I feel like justice wasn't served in this case the bond should have been higher or better yet he should have been made to sit in jail so that he couldn't do it again to someone elses child and to the ones with the negative comments put yourself in the child shoes or think about if it was your child what would you do
