WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) — Cape Fear Literacy Council will host “An Evening with Jeffery Deaver” on Sunday, October 20, at UNCW’s Burney Center Ballroom. Jeffery Deaver, an accomplished novelist and supporter of literacy, is donating his time for this fundraiser for Cape Fear Literacy Council. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Literacy Council, a 501(c)3 public charity that serves adult learners in New Hanover and Pender Counties.

Spend an exceptional evening with this world-renowned author as he shares secrets of his research and writing processes. During his General Admission Talk at 6 PM, Mr. Deaver will share details about how he created some of his most famous novels – like The Bone Collector (made into a feature film starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie), The Kill Room, Carte Blanche (a James Bond novel), Road Side Crosses and The Vanished Man and many more. Mr. Deaver will also speak about the inspiration behind the creation of some of his most famous characters like Lincoln Rhyme, Amelia Sachs and Kathryn Dance. Our esteemed guest will also share exciting details about his newest thriller – The October List – which premiered on October 1st.

Additionally, guests of the General Admission Talk will be invited to share in a Q&A session with the author.

Guests who desire the “Ultimate Jeffery Deaver Experience” are invited to purchase tickets to the VIP Cocktail Reception. This reception includes premium setting at the 6:00 p.m. General Admission Talk, with the added bonus of admission to a VIP cocktail reception with drinks, hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to personally meet Mr. Deaver and even have your photo taken with him. Mr. Deaver will read selections from his new novel, The October List (which premiered October 1) and autographed copies of The Kill Room and The October List will also be available. General Admission Tickets – Tickets to the 6:00 PM program are $30 per person. Mr. Deaver will discuss his writing process – where he gets his ideas, what types of research he conducts and how he pulls all the information together to build his novels – followed by a Q&A session.

Student General Admission Tickets – Student tickets for the 6:00 PM program are available for $15 per student with valid Student ID.

“Meet Jeffery Deaver” VIP Cocktail Reception – Are you the ultimate Jeffery Deaver Fan?! Then join us at a 7:30 PM for a VIP Cocktail Reception immediately after his 6:00 PM presentation. Tickets for the VIP Reception are $75 per person and include premium seating for the presentation and drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the reception. Meet-and-greet and photo opportunities will be available with Mr. Deaver. He will also be reading selections from his new novel, The October List. Autographed books will be available.
